Wed, 14 Aug 2013 by Polycorp

September is packed with a plethora of events and festivals.  Here’s the scoop on several things to do in Halifax in September.

The Italian Canadian Cultural Association of Nova Scotia presents Italian weekend from September 6-8.  There will be Italian language lessons, face painting, pasta making demonstrations and plenty of games, food and music to keep the entire family entertained. Celebrate Italian culture and heritage in Halifax all weekend long at 2629 Agricola St.  The venue’s close proximity to Q Lofts is definitely indicative of the great things that will be at your doorstep once you decide to make the move to Q!

The 7th Annual Nova Scotia Fall Wine Festival kicks off September 12th and runs until October 13th.  Featuring over 50 wine tastings, attendees can partake in grape stomps, winemakers' dinners, cooking classes and food pairing events.  This one month event is perfect for wine aficionados and newbies alike.

Calling all film buffs!  Mark your calendar for the 33rd Atlantic Film Festival.  The 8-day event showcases music, film and media from across the globe.  This is one of Canada’s premier festivals that you won’t want to miss.  It’s going down September 12-19, 2013.

Revel in German heritage during Halifax Oktoberfest on September 21 at Pavilion 20. Enjoy craft beer, dancing, music and locally made German cuisine, including two pig roasts, during this annual festival.  There’s something for the whole family to enjoy.  Proceeds raised will go towards the charitable organization, Feed Nova Scotia.

See the Halifax Waterfront turn into a literary theme park during the Word on the Street Festival.  This event will take place on Sunday, September 22 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm and is free to attend.  This national book and magazine festival aims to raise public awareness, interest and the quality and quantity of authored or produced books, magazines, plays and stories.

The Irish singing group, Celtic Thunder, will be coming to the Halifax Metro Centre on September 26.  Tickets start at $63 each for upper bowl and lower bowl ends, and go up to $73 each for floor and lower bowl sides.

Each month Polycorp will continue to highlight things to do in Halifax.  As a new condo or homeowner, these events and festivals will give you the perfect opportunity to hang out and meet new friends, or maybe your Q Lofts neighbours to-be or Ravenscraig at Fleming Park neighbours.  Stay tuned to see what’s coming up in October.
